well i took it apart and i was lookin at it and it looks like the intakes aren't closin all the way, they don't come up as far as the exhaust do, so i'm wondering if somethin somehow got into the cylinder and is holdin the intakes open a bit, that would explain y i have so much clearance now, is there anyway to check if the intakes are stuck open without taking off the head? Also, it looks like the head just bolts to the hcylinder and then the cylinder uses seperate bolts to the bottom end, does that mean i can pull the head off without buying a new base gasket too? i'm used to the old zuki motors which have bolts that hold the cylinder and head down

 

all you will need is a new head gasket. The hard part is getting the head off. sound like you may have bent your valves.

 

Head gasket is over $50. Base gasket is only around $3.00.
