Problem with Fuel Leaking
#1
I put an IMS 5-gal desert tank on my DS and now fuel drips out of the lower vent hose. It's just a drip so I didn't worry about it until I saw the size of the hole in the brass vent tube. It's so small that it seems like the bowl could be totally flooded and the vent would only drip.
Anyone else have this problem? I cleaned the needle valve and seat, but it didn't help.
I think did does this regardless of the amount of fuel in the tank. During a race the motor was bogging on-and-off, I think it was flooding due to the needle not shutting off the flow.
Thanks for any suggestions.

It's the stock Mikuni BSR 42. The dealer want's $41.95 for a replacement needle and seat. I'd hate to buy one and have it not be the problem. Does the rubber on the seat get old and not seal or something?

Myself and Joshie Poo have the same problem. Our carbs will drip while the quad is sitting yet they run fine. Im not too sure what the deal is but Josh's started first and now mine is doing it as well. It has caused the paint on the swingarm to change colors. Josh has completly rebuilt his carb to no avail. Any ideas?
