Default header coating?

Would powder coating the exhaust work? I could have it done for free but I want to know if it will last.

If it is regular powder coating ,no it will not last.I had mine ceramic coated, which is a high temp form of powder coating.Good luck.

Have those headers nickel plated and you'll be happy!

Default header coating?

Thanks, I did some more searching on the net and found that regular powder coating won't hold up. I like the looks of nickel or chrome but I'm looking for a cheaper way to make my headers look good. Has anyone tried using the spray paint used for gas grills? Its supposed to be good up to 1300 degrees, that would work wouldn't it?

Default header coating?

I used some high-temp flat black on some old rusty headers on my GPZ. It came out good and lasted (but it just looked like flat black,,,if thats what you want.)

A friend of mine just flame sprayed zinc on my stock lt250r header. It came out really nice,,,but it has a sand paper surface,,,,maybe hard to wash.
