My Family was there on turkey day last year, and they cooked a bird in a fryer and said it turned out great and was very easy. I could find out about any cooking suggestions they might have. I will be at dumont on thanksgiving hope I can meet some of you guys while I'm there.

Propane BBQ dog.
My pops does this every T day at the desert where we go. Larry will be at Dumont for sure this T day but won't arrive till Friday. If my pops wants to go to Dumont instead of the regular desert spot I'll be at Dumont Wednesday. If he wants to go to our desert spot then thats where I'll be. If my pops isn't up to going anywhere at all this year I'll probably spend T day with my Mom (no they are not together) this year and show up early Friday at Dumont.

Well. . . thanks for the offer. There should be about 10 of us. . . . we'll bring a can of cranberry sauce!
Seriously, I think my wife went and volunteered me to bring the fryer down. I would prefer not to because it can be a bit of a pain when you aren't at home.
But, If you haven't had fried turkey you haven't had turkey!
We'll probably bring a couple birds that are breast only (on the bone, un-cooked) and one full turkey. I have found it best to do small birds (about 8-11 lbs.) We have always put seasoning on the birds a couple days before we cook them (one jar large Tobasco - poured all over the bird - Then one can of Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning - pour the whole can over and in the bird.) I usually wear rubber gloves and a face mask when putting this stuff on - it is strong. I injected it in a bird once and actually, I am interested in trying the injection again. It gets spicy when you inject them.

I am tired of smelling all those deep fried turkeys at the dunes, while I have the pre cooked Honey Baked turkey. It's pretty good, but nothing beats fresh cooked turkey. So I ordered my own set up including a 30qt propane fryer, battery operated pump to remove the 5 gallons of peanut oil when done, thermometer and a skimmer for removing other cooked items like deep fried veggie's, donuts, shrimp and whatever else I can throw in it. I ordered mine at Northerntool.com
