Give me the info on Kermit. How far is it from Lake Charles or Shreveport. I would love to make a trip to some real dunes. Little Sahara is alittle far from here but I do try and make a trip when I can.

Bigds i believe it's about the same distance as Lil Sahara.12 hrs

 

I believe it is a little further but you do not have to change roads 15 times!....My last trip to Lil Sahara it only took me about 10 hours as apposed to the 12 ana half it did the first time...But from what I have heard Kermit is about 40,000 acres instead of 1500

 

Question for any of you that know. How late will Barney let you in the gate? I have some people here that want to leave at 1, which will put them there about 6. I know there is no night riding, but when does he close the main gate to get in to camp?

 

I think if you call and tell him you are coming in it will not be a big deal...Plus I never get there until 7 and then the rest of the crew normally about 8 or 9 so you should be ok ...........And you can night ride up until about 10 or 10:15

 

Where do you guys usually park. We drive in and go straight over a slight hill and camp down in the corner. Usually lots of room and you dont have to deal with the dust of people riding by all day.

I usually park anywhere I can find a place. But since the everyone is going I will park in the back where you usually park Tim.

Is Kermit near any major city or is it in the middle of nowhere. I would love to make a trip to Kermit but I dont have a travel trailor to stay in. So is there any Hotels close to kermit.

 

I stopped in Kermit on the way to FSW last year to pee. Its is in BFE. It did look like a very nice place to ride, it was hard to tell at 2:00 am though. I have heard some of the TX crew say it is their favorite place to ride.
