Ok guys, here are the Pre-liminary numbers I got from Randy at LTE. I hope this does not come back to bite me ...

*** DS 650 Dual pipe over stock ***

5-7 hp gain
Most gain in the Mid RPM Range
96 DB (by Oregon Standards)
Lighter than stock

From my understanding of how the pipes are rounted, it seems as though you'll be able to run the stock air tube without the air box from the carb as long as the air tube is hose 'clamped' or 'zip tied' in the oscilation area. This may even provide another 2 horsepower - this according to Mr Horsepower. I talked with Randy about this, and he's going to re-test it with that set up. If it works out, he may even provide a support bracket for the air tube in his pipe kit .

Randy says he is still at least 4 weeks away, maybe 6, before he's ready to sell them.

This is only meant as FYI. I hope I dont make anybody upset.

I dont even think the duals, or any other carb, will have a problem because the pipes are routed so low to get through the mid frame. They will actually have a slight bend down right about where the carb mounts to the intake manifold.

We are all going to know, when they are available, if they will clear the carbs or not. I'm getting the first pipe and I will post TONS of pics so that everybody will have all the info they need to make a good decision.

They are routed on the inside of the subframe for the DS. Sorry, no chance of that changing.

The target market for the dual pipes are the dune riders because of the need for quiet ops.
