Does anyone have the new big gun CDI? I havn't seen much about it on the forums sounds like is supposed to have decent performance and is $100 less than the Ron Woods. Is anyone using it how does it compare to the RWI

I hear lots of them have sold. So far I have not heard of any unsatisfied customers from the various people that sell them ...

I just weird no one is talking about them, I havnt heard anything from someone that had used a full production version.
I just want to know how it matches up to the woods? if it has the same power curve and cost $100 less that sounds great but i havent seen any testemonials yet.

Any body out there tried it?

Ok, I was looking at the Big Gun CDI on a webpage (ironrod might know which one) and it says it's for the Baja and Viper red DS? Is there one available with the old style plug, or might I have to improvise?

Big Gun has decided not to market to the older DS650s. Modifying the big gun to the 2000 model DS would be hard - the plug has no pig tail.

How many wires are there? Hard is not the same as impossible. The Big Gun sounds like just what I'm after in a CDI, except it won't plug in.

I hear ya! The most appealing CDI to me with a better ignition curve AND A REV LIMITER at a good point with a smokin price and I can't get the dam thing because it wont plug in!!

All you need are a couple of plugs, the correct wiring information, and 6" of correctly colored wire. Then you could make an adapter which will allow the CDI to be plugged in with no jury rigging. I've wanted an adapter like this for a long time so that I could use the CDI from my Baja on my 2001 DS.

What I don't have:

the plugs
wiring diagram
correctly colored wire.

Looks like I wont be making an adapter. However, it is possible and once you make a single adapter correctly, it's basic from there on out. I'm not sure where a person could buy the correct type of plugs, I *THINK* the wiring info can be found on the forums, & I know the wire can be had at any hardware store.
