Default alky on stock bike?

I'm new to 4-stroke performance so please bear with my ignorance. Can you run alky on a stock bike with a stock carb. I realize the carb would have to be modded. what are the pros and cons of running this way?

Alky wont do any good without bumping the engine compression higher. The whole thing about alky is it has a really high octane level (more than 140.. not sure exactly) So You can Raise the compression really high, like 14:1. Gas can't safely run this high because of preignition. It can be done, but stock... You will gain maybe 1-2 hp and waste about 2x more gas. if you change piston, intake and exhaust, it would be a huge change. IMO not worth it.

It's worth about 2 tenth's in the 1/8 mile on a stock machine. The bsr carb can be modified real easy. drill pilot jet out to .036. drill needle seat and tube out to .125 and main jet around .116 and raise float level as high as you can without running out overflow. may need to open up fuel system to supply enough methanol. The bsr carb has a small fuel bowl and on long pulls tends to run dry without mods to the fuel system. I have some jets drilled and set up for the bsr carb, IM me and i will be glad to send you a complete alky setup. (free)
