Dual 39 air vent

Dual 39 air vent
On the Keihin dual 39mm carbs there is a air vent tee between the 2 carbs. What is this for and can I or should I just plug it. In the troubleshooting guide it says that if you have poor running at 1/4 to 3/4 throttle you could be too lean or have a clogged air vent. So maybe plugging it isn't a good idea. What have you guys that run the dual 39's done with the air vent?

Wrap some nylon around the end of tube & zip tie or rubber band it..at least thats what I did...Have you ran the carbs yet? I just converted mine to alky and added drag pipes..I want to know what you think about the dualls compared to 45mm, and will you be at dumont this weekend? your bike should do GREAT with them if dialed correctly!!!

Allrighty i'll do that. That sounds easy enough. Naw i'll be installing them this weekend. Prolly just go down by the river bottom by me to try them out and check the jetting and stuff. I won't be out to dumont till T-Day weekend. Im hoping to pick up a bike or 2 with them. I'll find out that weekend for sure how much I pick up over the 45. You should be insanely fast this next go around. I hear that Sam (Raptor03) is going with the moon shine also. Not sure what else he is doing but we'll find out in a couple weeks.

Hope to get my 39's before this weekend. If the weather doesn't let me go riding I'll probably install them this weekend.
From what I hear, run the needles in the leasest position then 160 mains for my set-up (at sea level.)
Since these are pumper carbs, they have a tendance to push a lot of fuel in on the low end, that is why you run with the needle in the leanest position.
