Default DS650 Tachometer

Anybody have information on what type of tach to buy and where to get one? I'd like to find one of those that has the strobe light that you set to flash at a specific RPM.

Thanks,

Pat

i'm pretty sure he only one you can get is from RWR or bombardier, i can get you the part # for the bomb one if ya need it, i got the one from bomb and it works great, i tried one for a car but it doesn't work, so unless you can find a strobe for single cylinders it won't work

to get around the uncommon CDI ignition, autometer might have a tach that triggers off of the charging system.

i saw a msd ignition somewhere for the bombardier but can't remember where. if you can find it then you should be able to make an autometer tach work or the msd shift light. let me know if you find one, i'd like to put one on mine.

"To get a tach. to work with CDI we go off the
charging system. Most charging systems today that supply power to the CDI
ignition have a 12 pole stator that puts out 6 pulses/rev. We can get our tachs.
to trigger off the 6 pulses/rev. All the information you have for your system
I'll see what we can do for you.

I bought mine from my dealer at $150 without the bracket. I dont want to mount in in the black pastic (can't really see it there) I am going to have a friend make a bracket with a protecting bar for rollovers.

Gary at TVI sells the MSD CDI but does not work with any tack but the one Gary sells because it only uses one coil. That is what Gary told me.

that doesn't make sense to me. MSD uses multiple sparks so they must use a "standard' 12V tach output to trigger a tach. you ought to be able to use an automotive aftermarket tach trigger by the MSD tach output???
