I'm tossing the idea of getting the 04 swing arm. Will it fit an 00 model with the stock rear shock? Any ideas how much they go for?

It may be lighter but also remember you wheel pick up the front wheels alot easier too. If you have mods done and like to drag then this is a problem. I guess if alls you so is ride trails and race then a shorter seingarm would be ok.

One thing I loved about my old 400 EX and the Raptor is picking the front end up on demand. I kind of want that on my DS. I know it's terrible for drag racing.. but I'm wondering if it's a simple switch over. I also ride MX and some light trails where you want the front end to come up over the nasty stuff.

From what I've seen regarding big bore machines, that 720 in your future will get the front end plenty light... better yet, take the $700 for a shorter swingarm and put it toward a stroker crank!!

bigben,

Let's see... I'm just trying to weigh my options. I never did like a steel swingarm. Aluminum don't rust...

I might be selling my 04 swingarm, chain, & steel braided brake line off my 04 Baja. It is brand new and never run on except for in the parking lot of the dealer. I am waiting for a swingarm I bought on ebay to get here to swap them over. From what I here they are the same, you just have to switch out the bushings from the 2000 thru 2003 to the needle bearings in the 04. I already bought the chain, but still need a longer steel braided brake line for the swap.

entomber , trust me you might want to ride with the stock swingarm before you go shorter, the front tends to lift to easy and it still comes up with the 4" extended.
