Ok Guys .... here is the low down

Ive been doing some racing against some other bikes...mainly preds, rappys, shees, 450rs, and Ive been losing....something I hate [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] I need to get some more power. No lie im a big guy, 250lbs will slow the bike down.

I have a WB E-Series w/Spark Arrestor
K&N Filter
K&N Jetting (Just done yesterday have yet to test it wide open)

These are the only power mods
As far as losing some weight off the bike:

Front fenders - GONE
Cut rear fenders
Plastics and Frames Behind Pedals - GONE
PRM Grab Bar

Tires - Holeshot XCR

Now for the 50 Dollar Question what should my next mod be.
What is gonna give me the best bang for my power craving buck.

how are you managing to lose to predators??? racing a track or something??? as for the rappys and shees, if they are stock, or just piped and jetted you should be able to run right with them or ahead of them. i weigh 240 and i don't lose to many raptors or predators that don't have some motor work done to them

 

dude something is wrong there is no way you should loose to all of those. my cosin chadascrambler is aroud 245-250 and he beats raptors and preditors quite abit. hell i'm a big gy and i hang right with everything else and beat them , and all i have done is modified exhaust cap.

 

I am around 275 with about the same mods as you. I ride with a guy on a banshee.he is around 180. we have raced alot. by the way he only has exhaust, jetting and filter as well. we run almost neck and neck every time. it just depends on who lets go of there clutch first. he gets me off the line. but I usually pass him by fourth or fifth gear. rolling starts, he can not catch me.

try 15-42 or a 14 front it will lower your top speed but a lot will quit before you get that high, that gearing will make you quicker off the line and that is where they get the ds.

Well so far im looking into the cheaper items.... Im still new to the quad scene, working on my skills and such.

The bikes im racing usually at least have a pipe some have pipe/jet/filter. One of my main problems that I find is that I cant keep the front end down off the line no matter what I do. Now im not getting beaten by much but they are pulling away from me in high gears High4-Low5

We are running 1/8 and 1/4 Miles (respectively)


The one complaint I have about my bike is that It feels like it has so much more and yet it dosent get there and I have to shift so fast its like the bike is not getting its full power.... Im thinking chang the CDI box get rid of that rev limiter but if I do that will it be a big help with the current mods I have? Im a go fast freak... ive raced cars since I was 15 and the faster it goes the bigger my smile [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img].... same stands true for quads.

As to the problem with my nose going straight in the air off the line might the tightness of my suspension be affecting this? I ride with it pretty stiff (I do some jumping and im practicing for some flat track action) though as of yet Im not real sure where my suspension is gonna work best for me stiff - mild - soft these are things im trying and seeing what I get I had it pretty soft when I bought it and it kept bottoming out on jumps so I made it stiff.

 

dude, i ran 1/8 mile with my cousin and over te summer. i found that a hard suspention will hurt your times, u need to soften it up some now i don't pull the front end so hard but it still gets up there though and you should talk to misterhp, he gave me some advice i'm gonna try out tomarrow after work. i posted a thread bout needing help with tuning, u can check that it may help you.

 

Consider the following: CDI & Front Sprocket, then Piston Cams and Valve springs.
