Someone else help this guy see the light! Predator vs. DS

Check this thread out!
This guy is trying to make a good decision on a quad and is getting pulled many different directions.
I have found these decisions are a lot like politics. . . I can't make you see my side by yelling at you or talking down to you. Best to just state what you have actually seen.
If you own both a Predator and a DS maybe you can offer him your thoughts (even if you prefer the Predator! Just help him make up his mind based on the correct information.)

I would take the 04 Predator over any quad out there today! All the first year problems are fixed, tranny's, ball joints, better swing arm that's slightly shorter for ease of lifting the front over obticles, revalved suspension for an even better ride and awesome jumping capabilities, lighter hubs that accept other rims, 9 inch rear rims for a better ride, an the list goes on!!! And being about $1500 less than the Yamaha 450..... You would be stupid to not strongly consider it! stick that extra $1500 or so into the Pred and imagine what you got for the money!!!
Polaris stepped up to the plate and fixed ALL of the first year problems and a whole bunch more! I'm convinced this time....... I WILL be on a new Predator sooner or later.... Hopefully sooner!

It's not like they had many problems anyway. The ONLY serious problem the Preds had was the trannys failing......... That was the first thing Polaris fixed. Pick up a mag and read about what's new on the Preds.

Well, on their page. NEW! Improved cooling system. They would improve it because the old one sucked. WHey would they improve it if it was fine?? They also had changed to the gauges because the old ones failed. Different brake lines, different recoil setups.. ETC....

Its called upgrading and improving on the old designs. They improved the cooling system to provide a BETTER cooling system. They changed the instrument clutster to provide a NEW features such as a tach and a fuel gauge. The stainless steel brake lines were added in 2001 to provide for better braking. It took until 2004 for the DS to get stainles steel brake lines standard, so whats your point? Different recoil setups? where did you get that from? And the ETC???? The cooling system, instrument pod, brake lines and all that have been improved on the WHOLE sportsman line... NOT just the 500's. Polaris likes to set new standards in the industry, especially with their sportsman line. Yeah, if it worked I suppose they could be like Honda and not change a thing for years, but that is what separates Polaris form the others. INNOVATION!!!!
This is an article on the 04 DS
So by your previous comments, that means that the swingarm, a-arms, headlamps, brake lines, tires, and rims all SUCKED on the DS...right??? Oh, and for the recordm that article is WRONG. The '03 Predator has stainless steel brake lines STANDARD. Now dont get me wrong. I think the DS is an AWSOME machine and I would LOVE to have one in my garage. But, I just used that as a comparison to your comments.

The 2004 DS650 ATVs have a lighter aluminum swingarm design, new aluminum upper A-arms at the front, and a lighter, brighter duroplastic headlamp. They also include stainless steel braided brake lines as standard equipment, the only standard sport ATV in the industry to do so. All models have Ohtsu* tires mounted on a new, stronger rim design

I had a polaris and it sucked. Nerver will I owen one again.
And as far as the DS goes. Its probably the most bullet proof quad out there. I never said it was perfect now did I.
Pushing said they worked it ALL out.. Well I still disagree. Its NOT all worked out...
