In a drag race with the right adjustments not mods, just different settings, they are nearly unbeatable by anything else stock! And they ride soooo nice.

For a more accurate answer....
When my monster was stock it ran about a bike to a bike and a half in front of Raptors. It beat stock Banshees pretty easy.... real easy.
I have a full stage 1 and I'm faster than equally tuned raptors, predators, and way faster than the Kaw and Suz 400's with the same mods. Piped shees are a different story. With equally weighted riders, the piped, jetted and filtered shees are slowly walking away from me on the top of comp.

My stage 1 DS is exactly equal to a piped and jetted YFZ or what ever the new yamy is called. That is one fast bike....... Maybe some of the stage 2 guys can chime in with there results. All in all, probably the fastest out of the bike quad out there. Well, I'm not sure on a fully stock YFFFZZZZRRRR (?)

Stock everything = 73mph
graydon full pipe, CDI, K&N jet kit, 22in holeshots, 15 counter sprocket=78.3mph
the setup I have now..........dont know yet, I'll have to hook up the GPS when she's tuned in right.

as far as racing, FAST. I beat raptors, z400's that cheated, some shees, all 400ex's and preditors, never raced and yfx, but heard their fast, and thats pre alky with 20in sandstars spinning for 30 feet before hooking up. Now I have alky and 22in skat trac's.

 

i got 74.28 on a GPS and that was on hard backed dirt
all stock

 

I got 76.9 mph on gps, stock. 03 baja.

 

WHoever mentioned that the DS rides nice is exactly right! I had my friends new 2004 DS650 going full bore up the seasonal matinence highway that is pretty much dirt road and it is usually bumpy from the rain and crap and i couldn't feel a thing! All i could feel was the vibration the big-bore motor created! It was like riding a 400+lbs. vibrator! I have to say somethign else, but has anybody noticed that when you get going really fast in 5th gear on a long straight that when you let off the gas the front end goes down??!? It did it too me and when i punched it again the front end came right up again!!! It was like the front end was off the ground the whole time! And for a machine to do that......that take some torque!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

 

How fast due you want to go? You can set up the DS to due over 100 mph with very little work.

 

I did 84mph on stock gearing with taller tires (22"). I have RWR full exhaust, 45mm carb, ported intake manifold and CDI box.

Jerfinds, If you make it to the dunes look out for one seriously fast YZF. Its been heavily modded and I have seen it beat alot of drag shees.
