i dont know......im hoping its a valve spring ........im getting ready to finish taring it down.........not sure what im looking for tho..lol

NOPE........lol......i was wrong again. looks like i have some major damage.i guess im going to have to give in to temptation and call gary with tvi. deep down im kinda excited that my head cradered.lol..

i found it. it looks like at the top of the head where im guessing that is a timing chain and cams, i broke one of the clamps on top .the allen screws didnt break just the metal between them. and it flew right out of the top of the cover. .......................Has any one had this happen?........im in new territory. thanks

Post some pics ASAP if you can. You mean the cam carrier broke and jumped through the cover!?!?

yes ....the bracket ho;ding the cam . the middle of it broke and came through the valve cover . my wife has the digital camera with her . ill take a picture of it and post it tuesday

i took the the plate off the top of the cams and it looks as if the plate has been broken for sum time now. it looks as if it has been holding on bye a thread. also a some sort of bearing came out when i lifted the cover. i have no idea where it could of came from. the valves and cams look great with no scars or marks on them .would anyone no where this bearing came from.it looks like it came from one of the port holes on top of the head.........thanks

Man that is an isolated incident. I've never heard that happen before on a DS.

It's too bad, this will give the Raptor boys something to flame about...

I wouldn't be all that excited, lol... But good luck with that.
