Just Another ATV Lesson...

Well.... went riding today out in Palm Bay and had a great time .... right up until I bit and bit it hard.
Doing a jump of about 40 feet was walking the dog and doing great then I all of a sudden started to land nose first so being the problem solver I am I kept hitting to try and find the problem...on the 4th attempt I hit real hard nose first and was throw sideways so that I was stradling the Throttle side of the bike with my leg underneath the motor. I tried to save it but was un successful and had the bike roll over on me at 30 mph... So far as I can tell I have CRACKED RIB (Handle Bar) Bruised and Sprained Hip (where the bike landed on me) Bruised and Sprained Possible Cracked Ankle (Wheel), Bruised Back, Knees and Shins, Strained Neck, Various Scrapes and Bruises, Cracked Helmet (I WAS REALLY GLAD I WAS WEARING IT)
The Bike made out like a bandit hardly a scratch just a couple scrapes...
Lesson Learned -
When the jump starts landing funny ....QUIT F**KING JUMPING IT

I agree with your lesson. I haven't jumped since my wreck, but I hope I learned my lesson also.
Glad to hear that you're not critically injured. Hope you can heal up soon.
You're the man, sacrifice the body for the quad.

That sucks man. I cracked a rib this past summer from a crash on my DS. Doing a nice roost in a sandpit and when I came to the top of the pit I was completely sideways and it caught BAD and catapolted me into the ground HARD!! My shoulder and head hit the ground first and this caused my elbow to jab into my ribs like no other. I about passed out from lack of oxygen from knocking the wind out of myself so bad. Just PRAY TO GOD that you don't have to sneeze AT ALL for about a month.... It WILL drop you to the ground if you have to. I say that and getting out of bed in the morning is the VERY WORST about having a cracked, bruised ribs.

Hey thanks guys...
as for you Creech
The key to doing stoppies is to get reall used to how your front brake works.
Start doing some slow speed STOPS with just your front brake start out soft and get a little harder till you fell the back end wanting to come off the ground. Now get a little fast about 7-8 MPH and slide up on your seat where your about to sit on your tank look at my pic of me doing it and youll see what I mean. Then ****** the brake in about the same posistion as before to bring the rear end off the ground and use the front brake to control how far it goes up...
NOW IM WARNING YOU RIGHT NOW
This is a really DANGEROUS Stunt You try this at your own RISK ... You can be seriously hurt doing these. Should you feel like you are gonna go over all the way kick your feet over your bars and jump trying to run away from the bike this will usually get out of trouble.
The Key to Stoppies and Endos is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE..... Know your bike well and how it reacts.

Good pointers endo. I was doing some pretty good ones right before it started to snow, and you pretty much gotta NOT be afraid to go over the bars if you go too far. You get used to it, and be careful! lol.
