pushin if u can get access to a large lathe you could make yourself one, i was going to if i could get machine class next semester, but unfortunatly i can't , prolly wouldn't have been as nice as mr.hp's but hey it'd b dirt cheap, i can get a piece of aluminum like that for nothin

Frist this was another thing i was not understanding a stock pipe being as good as a after market. But i guess if you could create a reverse megahope design that would explain some of the results people are seeing from MRHP end caps but i would be apprehensive about the no's with out seeing them aginst some top pipes. The graydon is a awesome pipe and so is the ron woods.but as an cheaper alternative im sure the right end caps would be the way to go. but i dought id ever intend to replace a full pipe for an end cap.But im sure they will replace most slip "on's
And Yes blackhawk that is true The wierd thing is that was my sig.For almost a year funny ain't it !!!!!!

My '01 has a modded stocker...I took it to a local muffler shop and told them how I wanted it. Basically just took a short piece of heavy gauge exhaust tubing--about 2.75"--and had the welded end cut on a slant so it extends out parallel with the ground. The sound is nice and throaty not raspy or tin can sounding. My dyno runs in KY were all done with this endcap...sorry, no comparisons between the billet endcap but I'm guessing they would be close enough to warrant a draw. I liked the looks and craftsmanship of MrHPs endcap and we definately like the performance...it allows the DS to breath more efficiently and now the exhaust seems that of a bike w/much higher compression ratio!

Of course the end cap won't keep up with the big breathin worked motors. But on a stock engine that is your best bet. The only time I have seen, first hand mind you, a pipe that actually helped consistently throughout the curve was on my buddys 03 raptor. He put a yoshimura on and after A LOT of fine tuning it was a real smoker. Funny thing, it still couldn't hang with the big pig. AKA My DS. Minus the trinity pipe!

PTL,
I didn't find anything useful at Wal-Mart to use as a spark arrester. I am going to head over to the hardware store and buy some metal screen (be sure not to get plastic) and then make that work for me. I think it will end up working quite well, and cheap to boot. I figure I'll make a spare as well in case it doesn't hold up.

I have not dynoed a slip on yet that will perform with the Billet End cap. I consider the stock pipe a full blown race header with the end stopped up, it just needs something on the end to make it breath. I guess my next dyno session will be the Wood pipe against a stock pipe with Billet End Cap. Any predictions???

By the way, on my extra end cap I cut a hole around the two spouts and put it on just to see what it sounds like and OMG! That thing sounded awesome! I pretty much ruined the cap (looks like hell) so I might be purchasing a billet end cap from a certain someone.
MisterHP, what kind of decible #'s with the modded end cap?
