Always the odd man out, I'm a big fan of the dynojet needle. I don't have a dyno but I'm not sure it can measure throttle response and that's where the dynojet really made a difference. The low to middrange response really picks up the front tires on demand. I think if you drag race all the time the stock needle is fine the dynojet just feels crisper.

I installed a Dynojet kits with a K&N on a stock DS. Exhaust is stock to, no other mods except the K&N and Dynojets. What is the stock airjet size? It has a 45 airjet in at the moment. It might have been changed. The bike is running extremely rich. I got it to work better by using the 165 jet, but I still believe the airjet that is in there is wrong for the kit.

the dynojet kit and the k/n kit are one in the same. FMF? probably the same?

The dynojet/kn kits work great on 300ex, 400ex, warrior - easy to tune in by their instructions and real life power improvements. The Big Bear, Wolverine, and DS650 kits -man, I finally gave up after several hours (days!) of tuning. Maybe, they didn't spend enough time on the dyno to get it right. On the Yamahas, the bottom end and throttle response was way to rich in all needle positions. On the DS650, the dynojet needle did seem to have better "off idle" throttle response, but the mid and top end went crazy - never could get it right on any of these bikes at all throttle positions.

Some of the guys on the forum seem to have these jet kits working to their satisfaction. I'd like to see dyno comparisons from someone whose kit works.

Do a search on keywords dynojet or k/n.

Eric, the dynojet needle seems to richer than stock in places, leaner at other places? Is my memory correct?

MR HP you seem to know your stuff, maybe you can give me a suggestion. I have an 04 DS650 and wa thinking about putting a "power kit" on it KN filter , precharger and dynojet. I saw that you feel this is not necessary. I can't go without lid on air box cause in Fl. it's real dusty. What do you recommend for me to get the most performance out of my now stock DS? I am on a budget since I am still paying for it but things like air filter, jets, and carb adjustments I can handle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

With a stock engine the factory air filter made a tiny bit more horsepower than the K&N on the dyno. So stay with the stock filter and use the settings in my first post on the thread.
