TM45 Carb.
#1
Been thinking about upgrading my carb. to a 45mm. I noticed on RWR stage one they put a 45mm carb and the PAMI as well. Was just wondering how much of a gain you get from that upgrade (is it worth the money)
Running a stock carb jetted to the bike upgrades.
RWR CDI
White Brothers air filter & exhaust
15 tooth front sprocket
Skat Track Extremes & Mohawks
Been reading the boards here for along time just never posted before, but hello everyone.

putting on the 45 and exhaust was the two best upgrades i did. the only thing i did'nt like about the 45 carb i had was, it did not have accel pump had to ride it like a 2 stroke. look for a carb with an accel pump for sure.

A lot of folks in here have the TM45, many of them have migrated to the Lectron carb. The lectron will give you a few more ponies over the TM45. The Lectron (tuned for the DS) is more money than the TM45. You might be able to find some used ones, I know the Lectron is on my shopping list down the road.

I was the first to have the 46hv other then the person that spend his money and time figuring out what worked.. I LOVE mine!! it rocks.. I had a TM prior and it was hard for me to dial in.. I dont think it ever was.. The Lectron is hard to tune, but someone did thier homework on it before selling it.. Trust us that have it.. Its A+.

I rode a bike with the Lectron on it this weekend - it flat out kicks butt! For hill drag racing, IMHO it gies the bike so much extra power you really need some sort of extended swingarm to keep the front end down. (I think for most anything else you probably wont.) MRDS650's 2000 DS only had two power mods that I don't: a RWR CDI and the lectron - he was getting OK starts through the whoops and pulling me by five quad lengths at the top and still pulling away. If he perfected his start he coulda had me by even more. I don't see any reason why the 46HV wouldn't work in any situation - we did a lot of sand duning and a lot less dragging and I never noticed any complaints from MRDS650. Now I've just got to work out the details about how to make a Lectron work on my DS, and then decide which DS I want to put it on! I've never run a bike with similar mods using the TM45, so I can't compare, but the 46HV certainly kicks butt over the stock carb by a long shot! I'm still slightly in disbelief that a quad with mere bolt on parts could need an extended swingarm.

you might want to try the ported intake manifold along with that carb

I put on the TM45 carb w/accel pump and ported intake, haven't tried it out yet though.Could someone tell me if it is common for the throttle to be so stiff?I'm gonna recheck everything to make sure there are no kinks anywhere, but don't think there is.My brother-in-law has the TM45 on his stage 3,and it's fairly easy. Thanks guys in advance for any help.Marvin
