Depends on the year of your DS. The older bikes with the steel swingarm is an inch or two longer than the newer ones with the aluminum swingarm...

The stock Baja X rims are a 9 inch rim, so no the 10 inch tires wont fit. For sand tires most people are buying the 10" rims and mounting on those, or you can get your hub re-drilled for the Yamaha or Honda bolt pattern then get 8 inch rims, if you need 8 inch rims.

I find it kind of strange that people such as DSSleuth on an 04' with the shorter swingarm have no rubbing issues while others on older models with longer swingarms running the same size tire are shredding their heel guards. Just doesn't make sense.

might been that on the 04 foot peg they attached the heel guard to the outside of the peg. Older model are not attached to the outside of the peg. Maybe that is why there is no rubbing on the 04????

22 " ITP Sandstars on 10 inch rims has made a huge difference over the 21 " gheckos i was running , i dropped to a 15 tooth and the noticable difference is the forward movement as apposed to the digging holes that i used to get. I have noticed it on the steep sand hills heaps , although i dont get to use 5too much , its still hard to pull 5th , i think i need to go to a 41+ rear sprocket to lower the gearing a little more.

Shame u can't buy steel in those sizes.

My 22" sand stars tore the ears off my heel guards(04 DS) in the first 5 minutes in the dunes. Trim them now, or get rid of them.
