Which one, Stabilizer or A-arms?
#1
I bought a DS 650 about 4 months ago and want to correct the steering instability. I've been reading on here and saw that some people have went with the steering stabilzer(denton and alba are the 2 I have seen) and some people say new A-arms(looking at a set of new ASR A-arms). I'm ready to buy one or the other, but which one is really better? I appreciate any input! Thanks!

You could prolly fix the sterring probs with correct toe, ride hights, and 23" front tires. A-Arms are always great but pricey. The stablizer is just a bandaid in this case. Not what they are intended for. But good to have. I went with the A-Arms and chose the ASR's. With that said...I am not happy with the ASR's because the hiems wear out way to fast. (ball joints). If I new then what I know now I prolly would go with a set of uppers from TBR. I also ran a stablizer...but that was more for the trail ridding and keeping the bars from being jerked out of my hands

If you get a stabilizer... in 6 months youll want a set of adjustable a-arms cause you will see the need for the caster and camber adjustments...If you get the A-arms and correct the castor, youll never need a stabalizer.. with 6-7 degrees of castor the DS is HARD to turn and if you had stabilzer youd be tossin it.. ASR uppers are $149 on ebay right now, and will correct all your problems.. when you recieve them in the mail pm me or Eagle, for exact settings if you want somewhere to start.....

I'd buy the arms first and if you set your bike up correctly and then stilll feel you get to much bump steer get the stabilizer. I went stabilizer first becuase a-arms used to be big $$ but they have gotten really reasonable on Ebay. The heims do go quickly. When they go look for very high quality replacements, I think there was a thread here about the various grades and types.
