i've been riding with some other tvi customers for about a year now, and parker has a 760 pami and it has always been a good running machine, but it was basically a coin toss between it and the 720 for which machine would win. it was seeming like it would run out of throttle on the top end. well parker took it to gary for a check up on the basics,i don't know exactly what was done motor wise, something with the cams and some thing else but it made a large difference. it was a very fun ride.

Hey Sandman, I'm looking at getting my 720 stroked to a 760 through TVI but was wondering since you have ridden both, was the biggest difference between the 720 & 760 on bottom end and overall torque? From what I have been hearing, the two are about the same on top. Was the 760 considerably slower reving? I like the idea of all that torque to match my riding style, if I go with the 760 I would keep my stock valves in although I have the RWR 40/34 oversize ones with seats sitting in the garage, I would also keep the Web 109 mild cams and TM 45 carb. My thought is that this setup would be an absolute torque monster, any thoughts or recomendations? Different cams or throw in the big vavles or both?

oops, just realized I typed 109 when I have the 110 cams. Probably looked weird to have "mild" next to the 109's.

the 760 is really nice on the hill, on the flats, the 720 probably has the edge but, i can't say that for sure, we never ran there this weekend. if you are wanting a trail machine i can't figure what you would need all that power for but i would give the edge to the 760, rider will make the biggest difference on either machine though. i need to get the nos on my machine to see where that gets me, but the 770 may be next. not sure that answered your question, either 720 or 760 will give you a big smile

Perhaps knowing a little about where and how I ride my 720 would reveal if the 760 is right for me. My DS is about 53" wide with thoughts of getting it even wider with a true long travle (14"+) King Shock front end and a +4 rear end with the shock to match, handling is not now and definitely will not be an issue for the speeds this 760 will be capable of running. Simply put, she's too damn fat to be getting' thru the tight woods of rocky, West Virginia. She only sees steep, mountainous backroads for miles and miles at a time and the torque sure would help with the grin factor on those long uphill straights. Well $hit, I think I just sold my self on getting the 760, you say there's a 770 as well?........

well the 720 of mine will get to top speeds that i'm not comfortable at, i bet it is close to 90-95, that is with the race head. the one difference is the 720 needs to rev. some other forum members rode it and that was the first thing they said (likes to rev)

Guys I have the 770 & 720 To tell the truth the 770 is just more fun to ride with the low end power. Its hard to explain its just plain fun fun fun
