It was a great weekend! It was fun to ride with everyone and see some very beefy DS650's drag up comp hill. One of my friends from Eugene had her 440EX there, and kept up, and even beat, a honda 450 with a power up kit. It made my whole weekend! Sandman was kicking butt on several raptors. I overheard one of the people watching who said Sandman's DS should pull better (even though he was beating everyone up Comp hill) since it was on NOS - I had to correct him by saying there was no NOS on that bike .... yet! Too much fun!

those 440 honda still seem to hold there own, cathy sure gets the better of a lot of people with that machine, i really liked how yours recovered so well with alex riding it, i couldn't think of a worse way for a person to start and he got it back to the front of the pack. I'm going to see what cam mike put in his and go from there, all he could talk about how yours pulled so much harder. he was wondering if you want to sponcer a 90 pound rider, with a yellow honda

I'd be interested in hearing what Cathy's cams are too. Mine have the Web 479 grind with Lift = .378, Duration = 274 Degrees. Again, no compression release so you'll have to move up in battery size like I did if you get somthing like those. You might check into the Hot Cams for the 400EX too - They have a pretty strong following as well. I also need to now get an aftermarket clutch - Mine just started to slip a little later on Sunday. I'll probably go with Duncan or Barnett. Cathy could stay on her quad going up that hill, with her +4 swingarm. I had to back off several times going up that hill and I lost time time there. It was good to see the smile on your kids face after having him try my 400. I would like to see him race a few other 400ex's sometime. Maybe next time you're down, I can let him run it 5 or 6 times.

sandman and oregon dune patrol-I will get the part number of the cam and pm you guys just in case you want to go that way.Cathys 440 may not be the fastest thing around but we have made it quite a bit faster than it was by tweaking here and there.I think next year we may build it further with higher compression and porting but for now it does very well for a( low tech) air cooled motor.

low tech, i don't think alex is liking the race results anymore he is thinking it would be a good idea to do more to his at this point, thinki'll try that cam and the larger main jet.

Thanks for letting Carl and I try out that 720 Sandman, sorry we didn't get a chance to say goodbye but when you guys pulled off comp we were to cold wet and beat to catch up. It was a pleasure to meet and ride with yo and the crew. I haven't had a chance to post, my laptop was in the shop and I've just got off work- time for bed. I'll try posting tonight.
