I got to see the Honda 450R at my dealers the other day,and they look cool,but I was wondering how they would do drag racing the big dogs?Has anyone lined up with one yet?

 

no but I watched one with just a pipe and cam SPANK 8 yfz450s, 1 shee, and 2 z/kfx with 440 kits. I was very impressed! the only thing that beat him was a 370r!

 

Haven't seen one run but did check one out at my local dealer the other day. Nice looking bike. I got to put one next to a Z400 and jump back and forth to get a difference in feel. The 450R sits lower in the rear end than the 400 and has a little better feel. The Z400 sits a little higher overall as well. The suspension on the 450R was a little stiffer.

They are asking 7K for the 450R! Sounds like a lot when your not even getting an electric start.

 

One other thing I like on the 450R was the gas tank. It has indentions in each side that allowed your inner thighs and knees to fit really snug up against the tank.

 

from what i've heard the yfz450 can crush the 450r on the track but my buddy lined up against one on his yfz and beat him. i took the yfz450 so i'm assuming it's very possible to do it to the 450r.

 

I rode a yfz 450 that had been piped and jetted and that was it and all I have to say is --- if I was riding my ds and the 450 at the same time and drag raced, I would get smoked on my DuneSled. Those friggin' 450's haul a$$. My bike has carb, intake and gear modifications and can beat a stock DS pretty good. I could not hardly believe the power those new 450's have!!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

 

I got one by about a bike length repeatedly at comp in Florence. I don't think I can take a YFZ with a pipe yet. I don't know what mods if any the Honda had. All the 450s I've seen are pretty fast and impressive.

 

My brother and I have both 450's. He has the r and i have the yfz. He has the hrc kit in his and when we drag race its dead even almost every time. Then i took my baffle out and did the cam mod and now i can get him by about 1 1/2 bike lentghs.

I havent seen him run against a ds yet, but it would be close.

 

i havent raced one yet but i watched a couple of my buddies race one that was stock with a different end cap without the small tube inside. The piped and jetted Z ran neck and neck with it, the piped banshee beat it by a link and a half pretty consistently, the raptor (stock) got beat every time. I think the Z would of beat him consistently but the rider was about 330 and the rider on the 450R was about a 150 lbs. ....that was about a 120 yd drag race.
