whats the top speed of a stock 2001 ds

 

everybody says the new ds's do about 78 but I'm not sure about the 2001 I know they are supposed to be slower than the new ones.

 

I read 72.5 but I dont know

 

Not sure to tell ya the truth. But when all I had was a white bro's R4 slip on and NO jetting. Stock gearing. I pulled past a yz250 that suposedly did 81 on it's last run next to a dodge pick up. This was done on a flat dry lake bed with no wind in either direction. El Marage in Southern California. The run is almost endless.

 

eaglecollector are you sure it wasn't a 125 because my friends cr125 does about 77 with a pipe and filter ??

 

LOL....my dealer told me he was afraid to let me SIT on it let alone take it for a test ride. He said it had to much power and their insurance wouldn't alow anyone to test ride them. Yea ride. I went to another dealer. LOL

I bought one of those Trail Tech computers but havent calibrated it yet. I hit a top speed of 141, but I think I was about half that. Speaking of that, new topic.....

 

when I bought my ds new in 2001 right out of the box I have a friend who is a cop he clocked me at 82mph but I am light weight.
