Does anyone out there know if the rev limiter on the ds has to be sent to someone like trinity to do the adjustments or is there a way for the owner to do this modification themselves? I figure that there must be a chip inside the cdi box that needs replaced or reprogramed or is it a hard wire job? Also is there anyone out there that makes an override like polaris's reverse button but only in forward gears for the ds? This cdi box stuff on these bikes are like taboo and I'm looking for all the information I can get before I pay someone to do it for me.

Thanks

I heard that Trinity cannot modify the DS' stock CDI box.

However I've heard rumor that the CDI box from the motorcycle, in which the DS' engine was derived, can be used and does not have a rev limiter on it.

Only speculation though.

You are correct,Trinity can not modify the cdi box. I spoke with Harry Mcdermont owner of Trinity and they will not touch the DS cdi unit. They tried to modify one and it just did not work out.

Default DS650 Rev limiter Modification's or is it Taboo!!!

It very easy to modify the stock CDI.

E-mail to Mile Haist, from Factory Connection. (profuelquebec@cgocable.ca).

For only 100$ CAN, he will modify you're stock CDI box.

You can choose the new limit (Ex. mine it's 9400rpm's). And you can choose the advance timing if you want (Mine is the stock timing)
