Hey there, Im going to be trading in my raptor and predator on a DS and would like to know of any common problems that the DS650s have ? Any complaints ?

What exactly is special about the seat on the X package ? Is it more comfortable or a MX seat or what ?

 

The only problem I have run into in the cartilage in my elbows hurting from trying to hang on ![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Only problems I know of were on early model Ds. 00', 01' had fan problems and chain roller problems. Make sure and set the sag of the rear shock.

 

The only diffrence in the seat is that it has a graphics kit on it, if that is what you want to call it. Other then that I dont believe there is any other diffrences in seats.

There really isnt to many problems with these things, I think some people were having troubles with the oil censor.

 

through 2003 (I think) the Rotax had a weaker shift fork. Newer models have a harder metal for the shift forks.

Water pump seals can go on you (very minor issue).

That's about it. Tranny, connecting rod, starter, etc. are all great components. The engine is the BEST built big bore and can take a lot more HP without modification.

Taillight burns out easily, water finds it;s way into the axle carrier troo easily sometimes, and my shift forks went once on me. But other than that awsome bike.

I'm on my second one and no problems that I didn't cause myself. You will love this quad. Nothing looks like it, nothing runs like it, nothing rides like it. The only downside to the quad is the addiction.

 

I have an 04, and the only problem I have had with mine, was a bent rim, ball joint, battery, and bad tire. Ohh and the stock tires suck, so I had to buy some spyder traks
