yet another jetting question
#1
I was wondering if those of you with modded end caps have to re-jet the pilot also or just the main. I recently started modifying mine and was wondering. I already bought the main jets (170 and 175)to see which works the best and may adjust the needle as well. Any other suggestion ?

I also did too, with out the supertrap ( I have that jetted too) went with 185 main, 45 slow jet, needle in the 5 slot (bottom) 3 1/2 turns out, air box lid off, with a KN, no back fire, and baby it hums, I think your jetting is going to be different from California than Florida.

What kind of end cap? That is one of the reasons people buy the mr. hp endcap, he will make sure you have the proper jetting. Almost everyone goes up on the pilot. The early ds's had a 40 pilot and that is too small for about any end cap or exhaust. Also running a different needle may help also.

I just ran my Ds at the beach today with a hp end cap and a 175 main, clip in the richest position
Stock air filter and lid on, low end of throttle response is great, but running along in 4th or 5th gear at half throttle and then opening it up to full it bogs and sounds like it back fires a little im thinking to rich on the main.
This is less evident if the revs are high at the time
It isnt runing real bad just it aint quite right
can any one confirm, or suggest any thing else.
