got my results from the dyno
#1
well made the 2 hour trip to the dyno yesterday and honestly i was expecting more. with all my mods it made 48hp and 47 ft lbs of torgue. his printer was broken so i am waiting for him to email me the grapghs. we had a banshee with us the was .080 over with milled heads, high comp. pistons, toomeys, and v-force reeds, boost bottle and some other mods and he made 44 hp and 32 ft lbs of torque. these numbers sound a little low. the was also a big bore banshee there on alky that supposedly made 97 horsepower the week befor on another dyno and only made 78 here. they told me they dynoed stock banshees at 41 hp. i tried all the setting on the vortex and the #1 setting made the most hp by about 4 hp. i know you cant compare numbers from dyno because they are so inconsistant.

Congrats on finally getting it done. That may not sound like a lot, but I wish I had that much. Have they dynoed a stock ds for comparison lately. That would be the only way to compare dyno's.

well it's still not real clear what this particular dyno is typically reading. kinda need another near stock 4-stroke to dyno and compare to.
did they snif the exhaust to confirm you were jetted for max power?
what carb did you have on?
I just noticed you are running ~12:1 compression. I thought you had the 14:1 in there. I don't think it's realistic to make upper 50's with your seteup without higher compression than 12:1. And I'd use a 48mm carb or dual carbs to get the most out of it.
I assume vortex curve #1 has the most timing, so that makes sense to me since the DS doesn't have aggressive timing stock.
The numbers you got look about right to me though. but it could easily be 53HP on another dyno, but I highly doubt 58HP.
What was the EGT reading?
I might have mine dyno'd there.

i ran the lectron. due to time restraints i didnt have time to run the tm45. i was figuring that if hpresearch was making 53 with the lectron porting and endcap, i would have been higher than that with the same mods plus cams and piston and cdi. plus if they dyno a stock banshee at 40 horse power, one with all these mods is only good for 4 hp?

i was really expecting mid 50s. mabee its time for a 15 shot of juice

Hey saint in there climate on that dyno im sure MrHp was making the # he say's but i have said else where expect 6-8 hp less than they advertise due to climate and Dyno fluctuations. And your # for what you have seem fair enough!!! infact in arizona you would not have even faired that well due to our heat!!!!

Saint650, I wouldnt worry too much about the numbers. Too many varibles in how each dyno will show hp. Best way to judge performance gains is to race someone before and after adding modifications.
