Switched from Gecko's to Sand Stars WOW!

Ever since the 22" Sand Stars came out I wanted to get a set to replace my smaller 21" Gecko's. Made the swap this past weekend for Pismo and it REALLY made a HUGE difference in hookup and grab at all speeds. I did need to up the back sprocket to a 41 tooth with a 15 tooth in the front. This setup gave me exactly the same gearing as stock for dirt. This also allowed 5th gear in the sand drags....Spanked some semi modified banshee's again and again! I mostly ride in the dunes and they really grabs awsome now. They handle real good at high speed turning also. Wheeling is much easier now. I'm very happy I made the switch.

Wait 'til you try haulers
Don't worry. . . Sand Sharks to 20" haulers and finally got 22" haulers. . . now. . . Ultralights coming soon!
For Pismo the Sandstars should be fine. When you get into the light soft sand you'll want the haulers though.

How about "Sand Skate II"s????
I use'm in Gamis... they seem fine.
Am I missing something??
Seems there's a bunch of you claiming certain paddles.... and that it's a huge difference between them all.
I'm not a hill shooter, my bomb's too heavy (not setup for it) to run any fast guys. I usually have to outride them!

Ditto Duneme and AZSAND!
Jonnyairtime you're right, lots and lots of opinions on paddles, but what sets the hauler guys apart from the rest is that they are right.
There are lots of kinds of sand out there, some heavier than others, and when you get on the super light powder and down in a 200 foot deep bowl there is nothing that can glue you to the side of that roller coaster spiral like a hauler.
and for a heavy guy or a heavy bike, well I gotta give big props to the new Extreme grip hauler - these paddles do not flex under torque or weight coming outa the hole man.
But still, nothing is more fun on trail rides than a vee IMO, lots of fun kicking that **** around in super tight donuts, and the Skate II's and new Stars are the best moldeds IMO. Edge is also a very good tire.
