OMFG! WOW the whole top end went fubar on you, out of all that i'm almost suprised the valve stem did'nt punch a hole right thru the piston and blow chunks into the bottom end too. i gotta wonder though, how fast did that motor lock up on you when it all let loose? probably stopped in a heartbeat huh. all in all though the head looks like you left it on the freeway for a couple days, nice paperweights though,..........josh....

Scooby, what valves were you running, Does someone make Titanium valves for that will fit? Gary at TVI showed me a race head with tulip valves which were interesting but I thought would be heavy. I'd never seen valves like them before.

What are those things? (a little 2-stroke humor)

How fast were you going when that happened? What did it sound like? I've never been around a motor that did that so I'm curious.

A little history, Scooby took his bike to Fourstrokewars 2 and had it dynoed. This was when people were calling him a liar over his hp claims. He ran the boost alittle higher than normal and everyone was gathered around and there was tension in the air as the guy running the bike tinkered around and finally made a pull. He wound it up and KPOW--hit the rev limiter and the thing backfired like three times rapid fire. The guy almost messed his shorts and I'm sure he wasn't the only one. because the rest of the crowd ducked for cover. He made 119 hp on those pulls and stockers were doing 36 on the same dyno. That motor sees some stress.

Ouch Scoob,

I feel your pain. Those pics gave me a jolt of memory of my busted cams. You'll get it resolved. Granted it will leave you with a lot of headache and a lighter wallet.

Now would be a good time to consider a bigger bore.

What rev box were you running. Your mishap is making me look into something with a programable rev limit. Good luck in the rebuild and keep us posted.

Hey Scoob,

Would you consider titanium valves? I would assume they will be easier on whatever valve springs you may choose to go with in the future.
