we'll i meet mark and ron at florence on sat. and things went pretty well once i changed the rear axle bearings in mine, actually went pretty well. meet ron about 1 he is a great guy. the real excitement was that i had my machine back together with a full nitrous bottle that was almost hot, so we went and had a few runs on that, very good results. i think bigslim had the most fun with that bunch of races. well after a few runs at south jetty we all decide to go to comp hill. well after we get there i ride marks 440 for a few races it's right there with the 450's but it takes a A game run or they seem to have a slight edge. well ron offers me his 730 for a few runs. well i run this hill a lot and wasn't aware of the power delivery of his quad, it had a really neat power curve, and i mean in a good way. this engine isn't a mr hp 730, it is his cylinder and a on dunes head and i believe web 109 cams, i have to say it had the pull of what i have found on the stroker engines i've rode, it seemed to handle the heavier riders very well. my 720 really likes to rev, this engine had a different power curve. We never got to run the two quads side by side since we didn't really have two riders of the same size to actually make a good compare. well it was a lot of fun looks like a neat engine kit, the LTE exhaust sounded good. other than that we put the hurt to a lot of the 450 class, there was several banshees that didn't seem to like what was happening either well it was great riding with you guys, had a lot of fun.

Glad to hear the new jugs are out and getting used. Hope they give them a good run and see what they are made of. I know I have tried to play devil's advocate and tell people the kit hasn't been out yet so, don't say it is the best yet but, I don't want people to get the wrong idea (I'm not saying it is a bad kit or a good kit, just a kit that hasn't been run at all!) Anyways, once people have been using it for a few months, that will go away and we can start looking for more people to show up with that kit.

The DS that sandman430 rode had a one off MisterHP cylinder. The production cylinders won't be out till the end of august.

The cylinder that is on Ron's DS is one of the prototype cylinders MisterHP made. MisterHP made a few one offs (only one unit made at a time) to get his design right. The kits that will be ready in august will be off of a larger production (more than one at a time).

The fact that it is a preproduction or production cylinder doesn't really matter! Either way it should be better then a steel sleeve cylinder.

It will be interesting to see the difference in a purebreds MisterHP (only his parts) vs. the hybrid (mix of difference engine builder parts). I am hopping a few will make it out to DS days.

SANDMAN430, I know you didn't get a chance to run Ron's DS againsts your 720 but how do you think they would compare? With the nitro would it even be a race?

sandaholic, i rode both bikes at the hill and i really liked the torque that ron's 730 had. it seemed like i could let the 450's catch up and then just gun it and run them down. i know i can't do that on sandman's bike, but i think his just likes to rev higher. on the flats or a longer hill i think it would have been in sandman's favor, but for our short hill i believe seet of the pants feels like ron's was faster. it was a damn nice machine, but let me tell you, when i rode sandman's with the nitro at 1000 lbs pressure right after we changed the bottle, i have never ridden a faster machine. while i could already pull the 450's up the hill, when i hit the nitrous i left them. i was at the top and looked back to see them about a little over halfway up the hill. and this was my first ride on his bike with nitrous and i weigh considerably more than sandman so with him on his own bike the 730 and 450's would not even be in the race with the nitrous running good

These 450s that you are comparing to, do you know there extent of mods?

I know at pismo I came across alot of 450s, some I could take, others were not even in the same leauge (they were way faster). Those 450s that were smoking, I have no idea what mods they have, for all I know they could of just had pipes and filters or complete engine build ups. I am hoping it was more then just pipes, after all they were a big group of Sparks quads and ESR quads.

they had at least pipes. that's all i could tell from just looking, but the 720/730 were spankin them pretty good (and that's on a short hill, any longer and they would have been exposed badly) and one of them had a kid about 100lbs less than myself, so i was giving up probably 250lbs between rider and bike
