Default sprocket change

what do i need to do in order to switch to a 15 tooth front? what i know is first to break the chain (dont know how), take off the back motor mount and turn it around so it wont hit the chain, take off the sprocket (dont know how) and switch them, reasemble evrything and set the chain tension. can anyone brake it down for me? thanks a bunch.

No need to break the chain or do all that stuff you are describing. First take off the sprocket guard. There are three alan screws holding it. Not sure what size. You will need a 30mm socket wrench with a big handle to remove the sprocket nut. Break the nut loose and remove your old sprocket. Install 15T and lock washer and tighen her down tight. Not sure how many foot pounds. I just got her as tight as I could. Put sprocket guard back on and tighen chain back to spec. Thats it.

Oh yeah when removing the 30mm sprocket nut you will need to put your bike in gear.

i heard on the forum that you need to open the rear motor mount and turn it around, or the now lower chain will hit it, is it true?

I don't think you do with a 15T, maybe a 14T. I rode mine a few times since changing and haven't noticed the chain hitting anything.

I changed mine to a 15t sprocket, easy job. Just remove the guard, flatten out lock washer with a screwdriver, and with a 30mm socket remove the nut. The nut is on there good, easy job with an impact wrench. Without an impact wrench you will need a long breaker bar to get some leverage. It might help to have someone sit on the quad and hold the brakes. No need to touch the motor mounts. Once you get the nut loose, adjust your chain to give you the most slack, this will allow the sprocket to slide off easy and put the new one on. When you take off the original sprocket, look at the orientation, one side goes towards the case. Once the new sprocket is on, and its facing the right direction, the chain should also be on it, put on the lock washer and then the nut. Tighten that nut down, then bend the lock washer towards the nut, this prevents the nut from backing off. Put the sprocket guard back on. Last step is to readjust the chain.

I had to use an impact. I had my dad help to hold the quad & I had plenty of leverage (plus I've got big guns, j/k) Anyway the quick strike of an impact is much better than twisting on the nut with all your power.

you only need to change the back motor mount bolt if the nut is on the same side as the chain, otherwise your fine,
