The 04 is a better machine stock. It feels more nimble, it is easy to wheelie and the steering feels lighter. These are all because of the lighter parts and shorter swing arm. Once you start adding some more mojo to the machines, that lighter more nimble feel starts to get a little squirly. But the 04's headlight is much better. Other than that, no difference in engines, or anything performance related.
