Jetting (and other) Questions
I am awaiting delivery of my Mister HP end cap for my 03 DS 650. I got bored last night and decided to take apart the top of the carb (using the unbelievably helpful prior posts on this subject as a guide). I found that the "C Clip" was set on the fourth position from the top (flat end) of the needle. So, my understanding is that moving the clip down one more notch (towards the sharp end of the needle) will make it richer. Assuming I will be using the stock needle, and that I ride at sea level (Pismo/Dumont/Glamis), which is most likely to be the proper needle position once I install the end cap, once I change to the correct main jet?
Also, I have read the posts that describe cutting 4-6 coils off of the "carb spring" for better throttle response. Is the spring that is cut the big, thick spring that is held down by the gold colored metal piece that makes up the top of the carb, or the tiny spring that is part of the needle assembly? Obviously, I don't want to cut the wrong one. Is there any downside to doing this?
I have read the posts about using zip ties to re-route the snorkle tubes outside of the frame. Can anyone post a picture of the correct way that this should look? Last night, I noticed that there is a black hose that comes up from the motor and goes into a hole in the snorkle tube on the left side (looking from the back). If you put the tubes outside of the frame, what do you do with this hose and what do you do about the pre-existing hole in the left vent tube?
Thanks in advance for your help. Reading this forum has given me confidence to do things that I never before would have done (like take the carb apart and try re-jetting myself).

Jetting (and other) Questions
All of those questions can be answered by emailing or calling MrHp, but personally I wouldn't want to put that kind info on the forum any more because there are those that copy products then use all of his testing information such as carb settings to sell their's without any testing or expense!!!!
Considering the Thousands of $$ poured into testing cams, pistons, porting, etc.... , the endcap isn't that big of a deal, but what will they copy next?
Anyway, he'll gladly talk to you about those questions since you bought it from him and, I don't know, but he might talk to someone about it even if they didn't.
Good luck
