I'm not sure it is necessary, but I have a PeP steering stabilizer on my 2001, I really don't notice any difference between that and my 2003 without one. I think it was like $140 at my local dealer, they ordered it through White Brothers, so any dealer who orders through WB should be able to get you one. The Denton unit might be nicer, but costs more.

Why is it you want one? Doing some particularly abusive riding soon?

I belong to a club here called Florida Trail Riders. We race Hare Scrambles. The terrian is mixed as it is all over the state. Mostly though, it is through tight tree'd areas. The courses vary in length. Anywhere from 5.5 miles to 7.5. When you have a YFZ 450 on your you know what, you have to keep going as fast as you dare take, "The Man Killer!" They, and every other quad, are much more nimble through the woods so I do my best to keeo up. Seriously, The speeds and the tight tree'd area's warrant some help for my wrist's. I have looked around for one with no real luck. I will try the Alba now.

In that case, get the 8 way adjustable denton unit. It is adjusting the compression, where as the pep only adjusts the leverage and the compression is always the same.

Just a thought, but if there was a way to make the DS ride lower (Zero Preload shocks would do it, right?) and then narrow it down an inch or two, wouldn't that make riding through tight trails much easier? Obviously it only takes money...

As I was leaving the Alba site, I was thinking "Damn, I wish I wasn't so broke!" More stuff for the "I want" list.
The I need list like rent, food, ins., keeps getting in my way.
The Denton would be 'the one' out of the two they offer.
Scott doesn't make one for the DS yet.

I have the adjustable denton on my o3 and love it. Turn it down or up when needed. It makes high speed ruts disappear.

Ive got the PEP on the stiffest setting. Helps bigtime in the woods or on the track. I wish i had the Denton, as it easy to adjust. If you get the pep. Start on the stiffist setting. Ride for a while, and if it still feels to stiff, set it lighter.

The track at tigerton is pretty rough, and jumps are uneven. With the PEP unit on, i can blast over all that crap, land majorly uneven and hang on with little effort, where i would have flipped or had sore arms without it..

Its wonderfun in teh woods at high speeds. Id never ride fast without one. One decent rock adn the bars come out of your hands. Did it once. Wasnt fun. Now if i hit crap at high speeds, im ok. Scares the crap ou tof ya when you cant avoid it and see it just as you hit it, but nothing bad happend with teh stabalizer now....

Dave.

Graydon proline makes a nice rebuildable one too for around $160

I have it on both of my ds650s.
