I was a the county fair last night and the bomb dealer had a yellow X their and they had it taged as a 05. Im like What??? the 05 are black and orange I looked alittle closer and the upper a armes were steel not aluminum like on the 04. the salesman said they had the black/ orange in and sold it last week. Is this yellow 05 X a late year production 04 or a 05 they threw the yellow plastic/ grapics on?

that yellow and black X is a 04 model all 05 models are black and orange and the early 04 x models had illuminum a arms but then bombardier went back to steel for the late 04 X's

 

Yea my 04 x has steel uppers.

 

yea i heard that bombardier went back to steel for the late 04 models and all 05 models because they were having problems with the illuminum uppers breaking??? anyone having this problem ?? i sure hope they dont break and i dont think they will they seem strong and ive did some hard stuff with em and they are still fine

 

this dealer is saying its a 05 X, I need to look at the vin # or ID tag see if it says 05 or 04 if it says o4 and hes tring to push it off as a 05 that would be bull $hit.

 

I have yet to hear of anyone breaking or bending their upper aluminum A-arms. I think there is some other reason why Bomb went back to steel. It is still a mystery. Mine are doing just fine but I have yet to really air out the beast.

 

Im sure i seen it on here about illuminum a arms some where but i might be mistaking... anyhow im glad i got illuminum a arms instead of steel [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] and as far as the dealer saying its a 05 model and its black and yellow go check out the official web site there is no yellow and black 05X there are orange and black and thats it except for the normal model wich is all red so i think who ever is selling it to u or trying is just saying its a 05 to try to sell it.........yellow and black is better anyways

 

the certificate of origination from the factory that comes with the bike which is needed for titleing will give the true year, as long as its numbers match that is. ask to see it.

 

Why are they going back to steel a-arms?
