Drag starts?

I have a question for you guys that do a lot of drag racing at the dunes. WHen you line up to start who or what determines when its time to launch. When I was out at the dunes last weekend it seemed like whenever we dragged it was hard to get eveyone to leave together. I would typically line up bring up my RPM's, move forward on the seat and look over to the guy next to me and give a little nod. What do you guys do when lining up? Of course someone has to leave first so how do you determine who calls the shots. We really could have used a flag girl out there in a bikini

It is usually somebody on the sidelines that is flagging when I am racing. Even with a flagger nobody ever leaves on the same time. To many people get excited and when one leaves it sparks others to leave also.

I dont miss too many holeshots and the whoops belong to me !! Once we get to the smooth surfaces the High$ boys will get by me.... I still hold my own !

I agree, it's all about the nod. If one or two people leave a split second before or after you, by the time the top of the hill comes it's usually easy to tell the faster ride. If it's that close, then yes, A flag girl in a thong bikini would help get things going
