Packing Your Pipe !!
#1
I was reading another post and saw a response from 222..
..."These days, all newer ones seem to dyno 44-46hp. There does seem to be a lot less packing in the exhaust, but other than that, I don't know why unless they made a new casting and it was a little better on the head (pure speculation, don't write in the Bible)....
Which leads me to my question. Just what is the propper amount of packing when replacing the old stuff and how often ??
To what effect does too much or too little have on performance??

I have to repack mine 2-3 times a year because the packing gets blown out. Im pretty sure that its there for not only sound but also to a certain extent performance.
So what gives ?????

I have re-packed my Big Gun Exhaust a couple of times mow. Made a hugh differerance in sound and I think it made a difference in power too. I just bought a re-pack kit from my dealer. The last time I also had to buy the screen for the center as well, mine had fallen apart beacuse I let it go so long.
