Don't waste your time trying to make a pipe bender work. There are quite a few nice benders out there that are relatively inexpensive. Pro tools, Low Buck tools, M-Tek and JD brand tools.
I agree with you totaly. I wrote "pipe bender" I meant tubing bender. the other one mentioned by homier is the same pipe bender as harbor freight. unless they have something I did not see.

I know the difference between a pipe and a tubing bender. This guy wanting to find a cheap unit to bend what he's making doesnt work for lockheed martin. And for 70 bucks at homier.com...that PIPE bender will bend TUBING anyday..I bend 4130 Moly all the time with the cheap bender making mini custom bikes and have never kinked anything. of course i'm not bending too radical of angles..but I dont beleive the guy looking for the cheap bender is going to either

And...another thing...like I said...there's a guy selling plans to build your own unit...which isnt hard at all..and if you build your own, youre going to need to purchase the mandrels...which i'd probably buy from a place like enco...www.use-enco.com....and in that case..you can buy the TUBING mandrels, instead of the PIPE mandrels..which is the only difference in any bender

I agree that you could use a pipe bender on tubing but only for certian diameters of tubing. I also agree that you could just buy tubing dies. My point was, why buy a cheap bender that can only do certian bends when you can spend just a little more for a bender that can do more even if your project doesn't reqiure it you will still have the abillity to do more.
