Traxster Max alignment
#1
I have a traxster max that is out of alignment cause I struck a tree and bent the tire rod end so I had to take it off and straighten it out. Can someone here help me out give me some directions on what to do to put it back in line. Thanks

First, you need to get the specs. Some 4x4 have toe out, and some have toe in.
Once you have the info, get two cheap aluminum yardsticks(home dump or lowes),they need to be stiff in one direction, so wood wont work. Make sure both front tires are at the same pressure. Have some helpers, kids work good for this, to hold the yardsticks against the sidewalls of the front tires, and have it extend past the front of the machine, about the diameter of the tire if possible. Make sure the yardsticks are as close to level, with the ground as posible. Take a tape measure, and measure the distance from the out side of one to the out side of the other, as close to the tire as posible. Try to square up, the tape measure with the yard sticks, as close to 90 degrees as you can. Record that measurement. Go to the end of the sticks, hopefully its about 25 inches( which is the diameter of the tires), and take a measurement there. Compare the two numbers...if they are equal, then you have no toe. If the measurement at the end of the sticks is bigger than the measurement at the tires, its toe out. If its smaller, its toe in.
Usually the specs are given, like 0 to 10mm toe in. And if you take measurements, that are about one diameter(25 inches) apart, then you can read directly. Meaning, you have the full 10 mm difference to work with. 10 mm is about 3/8 of an inch.
Hope this helps.
