Someone told me the last clutch plate goes on offset from the others. It this true and is one of the plates different so its teeth will fit in that smaller groove??? I can't get any of the discs to fit offset and the bomb dealer did not offset that last plate? quick response if possible. thanks

when I did mine the "odd" plate looked a little different than the rest. there was no geussing. it was barnett though. it fits pretty tight. you may just need to go through them again to find the odd one.
I agree with countryjoe on the torq. spec. 89in lbs or 10NM. same for the side cover.

The first plate was not offset>(local bomb dealership mess-up) the actuator looked great. The first four plates were a little burnt but the inside 4 looked great. I roughed them up a bit and put it back together. It worked great. No more slipping even up a concrete incline turbo engaged in fifth gear. I leaned it out a little and it idles alot better and the lower RPMs are way more peppy. Alot snappier than the stock set up. Anyone know why not offsetting that first plate causes it to slip? It looked like it was suppose to be offset to stop damage from occuring to the plates if the clutch plates were worn to metal.

I might put a 4" swing arm later but I do alot of cross country racing, trailriding and duning. It did feel good having to lean forward in fourth gear up the sand. I might just put one of the patients tractor weights on the front bar lol.

That last plate shouldn't have to be offset. I've run it without being offset for over a year and I know Jeff and many others do the same.
Regardless. . . glad to hear its working again!
Oh, my understanding is that last one is offset to let you know when your clutch plates need replacing. When it starts to slip the plates have worn to where they should be replaced (clearances too much.)
