Well a carb would be a good mod if you wanted to go to a bigger carb a 44 mm lectron is a good start and pretty reasonably priced from mr hp. I would drop to a 15 tooth front sprocket. A set of holeshots would be good for the trails up there in NY.

Hey do you live in the greenville that is in upstate NY buy Cairo and Catskill?? If so I grew up in Cairo only about 20-30 minutes away from you.

 

i raced my friends craptor sunday, his is stock with a jet kit and air box no pipe. mine has a cdi box and 45mm mikuni and graydon pipe. i sucked him up bad in about 250' had him by 3 lenths easy!!! the carb manifold and cdi along with pipe really wake the ds up.

Carb. and droping one tooth on the front sprocket will make a big difference.

If you want a sleeper dont change carbs - dead giveaway its been modded. Stock pipe and carb.Let me tell you a story about a DS I saw. Out rideing at headworks outside of Columbus NE. saw a guy and his kid on DS's out draggin. the kids on a baja old man a candy red DS. The kids beating just about everyone there except a couple of high power banshees .My 426 runs hard , beaten a lot of bigger 4stks, thought i'd give the kid a lesson. He beat me by 2 lengths 4 times [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] I asked about the old mans cause hes just sitting watching the kid says the old mans is little quicker but hes not a good rider so maybe I'd have a chance . I go and ask if he wants to run them he says ok. We line up take off, he pulls me by a length out of the hole then walks away- beats me by 5 or 6 bikes!!! I ask what hes done, he says homemade endcap cdi gearing and had it tuned on a dyno in omaha I say BULL he pulls off his seat and shows me the stock carb air filter and pipe. I still dont know he had if anything but you should hope fora sleeper like that[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

I asked him if he lived in the town that I grew up by and he didn't he still lived in NY in a town with the same name but in a different part of the state.

 

Kind of like that old TV show "Newhart", where the "mentally challenged" neighbor had a brother named Daryl, and another brother named Daryl. Well New York must have a town named Greenville, and another town named Greenville, LOL.
