chain?

Ok I'll attempt this ..
1) Put the DS rear up on blocks - under the swingarm away from the chain
2) Losen the rear bolts on the carrier clamp.
2) Find your chain tightening rod in your tool kit - It looks like a screwdriver shaft with no handle or end.
3) Put the tightening rod through a small hole on the sprocket hub.
4) rotate the hub by turning the tires, and push the rod into one of three holes on the stock carrier.
5) Once the rod is through the sprocket hub and in one of three holes on the bearing carrier, rotate the tire, with the bearing carrier forward or backwards until the chain is tight (allow about an inch of play in the middle of the chain). This tightens the chain because the carrier is oblong.
6) Tighten back up the carrier bolts.
If this does not fix your problem, you probably have bearings out in your carrier -

I read your post on how to tighten the chain. I just bought an 04 ds650 Baja X. The dealer set up the chain for me this way. He told me it takes two people. He said I had to be sitting on the bike while he loosened the four bolts and adjusted the chain. Is this right ?
