If any mudtire has a shot at being good in the snow, it would be the MudMachine A/T (22 x 12.5 x 9). I have yet to see a tire get the kind of traction that these tires have, unless you start talking about the monster size 4x4 atv tires like Vampire's or Outlaws. But those don't apply to us. Try em, very versatile tire. Unreal forward traction.

i'd highly suggest realtors, they float very well and that is what you want in the snow. The ds doesn't do to bad in the snow, but your riding style needs to adjust, people who love to pin it will only get themselves stuck quicker, and you'll learn to judge what you can and cannot do pretty quickly. This winter i'm hoping to be able to afford the tracks, but if i can't i'll be putting on 25" realtors

Bearclaw tires are the worst in the snow. I threw mine in the dumpster after the first year of winter ridding. A mud tire like the bear claw come in a 12.5" width. With this width they are fairly rounded sitting on the rim, and will grow taller when spun at high speeds. Meaning you only run on about the center 3" inches of thread. Mud tires are also a hard compond rubber' meaning they won't bite on the ice.
I now run a GBC Shredder in a 22x11.00-9. I think this is a great tire for the show and ice, I can actully pull the front tires when ridding on the snow. The tire sits flat on the ground. More tire on the ground - more traction.
When playing on snow packed trails and hills I can always outclimb the 4x4 guys I ride with. Really P.O. them.
I am going to try a set of maxxis 4-snow this winter and see how they work.

Ive run the Realtors in the snow, I thought theyd perform better than they did for me, they dug more than they pushed forward. I have the Mud Sharks on now and im gonna see how they do this year, my next set will be either the Mud Machine like AllRedBomber said, but im worried about the weight of those, or i'll get the Dirt Devils, ive seen them go in the snow and they ran awesome.

we ride alot in the winter on the groomed/packed snowmobile trails ( snowmobilers hate it ) and found that my razors with 2lbs of air (like to run tubes with that low amount of air) work as good as realtors. but in any loose snow a paddle type tire ( realtors are very heavy ) work alittle better. this year i am going to try my worn set of haulers out in the loose stuff just for fun, i'll bet they work good!!!!

When the snow arrives down here, I'll be using Duro 243's in 24x11 I got back in the spring for mud racing. In hindsight I wish I'd got them in 25x12. In unpacked snow, as with mud, taller IS better. If the stuff you're riding on lets the tires sink to the point the skidplate/swingarm or whatever is dragging the surface you're apt to lose traction no matter what tread you're using.
