I know this is the Bombardier forum but you guys seem pretty knowledgable in other areas/quads as well so i will ask here too.

My girlfriend is looking for a quad and she found a Kymco Mongoose 250 with an auto tranny. She doesn't like the idea of a manual tranny. Does anyone know anything about this. I've already been to the manufacturers website, but i wanted to get some real world input.

How does it do say compared to a honda 250?

How are kymco products in general....

Any comments, testimonies or reviews would be great.

Thanks,
Hez

Hez,

Have you got her onto a manual tranny on a quad? I assume she doesn't drive a stick and probably thinks it is the same, however you and I know nothing could be further from the truth. My Fiance rides a DS, and she wont come close to driving a stick. I'm not saying a DS is right for your g/f but if you could get her to try like a Suzuki / Kawasaki 400, those bikes are pretty fun / tame in stock trim and have good potential.

I've never even heard of Kymco, so I'm no help there.

How tough is it going to be for you to get her to at least try a maual tranny? (Tell her to just rev it up, and let the clutch out fast - as long as she is on loose or even semi-loose dirt it wont matter.)

LOL, no pavement eh? hehehehehe........i dont think it would be too hard for her to learn... i suppose i could give her some instructional time on the DS and go from there. I dont think she wants to spend 6 grand on a 400 unless she could find one used........ someone else mentioned a polaris product i believe.....i'll have to look into that too.....

Thanks for all the input guys
