Default Does Your Header Glow?

I was riding my DS at night for the first time, and noticed my headpipe was GLOWING! It was kinda cool lookin' but i was concerned. Anyone have this same condition before? I was just riding around a little, nothing fast at all.

If you are seeing it glow, you might try jetting up a little bit. Red means heat, and that much heat often means a lean condition.

I would also get a bigger jet in there. Try one or two sizes up. Mine don't glow at night and I run hard to.

I was told this is a effect of burning gases going out the head and still burnig in the header causing the glowing . going up on the jet would let the motor run cooler but still letting more gas in the jug. mine has done it as well but I havent road at night in a long time to see if it still does.

If your headers are a glowin' you might want to jet up a size or two. Tooo much heat not good for the motor . Yes heat is a good thing just not too much. Squatcher has seen my stock headers glowin' about the first 8" after a hard ride at buttercup dunes almost looked as if they were molten metal. jetted up two sizes and cured that also ran a little better on top end.
