I have a 2004 baja with stock gearing a Ron Woods header and pipe a dynojet kit with K&N filter jeted with the air box lid off I beat most raptors by a few bike lenths.
I have not ported my intake manifold but plan on doing this in the next week or so .This might help you beat the raptor. P.S all my friends and my sons ride raptors and none have beat me yet except for the ones with high compression pistons and cams and portwork.
GOOD LUCK and kick some Raptor BUTT

If you could get the K&N filter and the dynojet kit for 50 bucks that is a screaming deal. I would do that and also look into porting the intake manifold you will see a big differance. You need to let that monster breath. Also after you do these changes make some runs and make sure you don't run out of gears so he can't catch you at the end this time.
Good luck and kick that raptors butt.

start out in second gear, slipping the clutch off the (this takes some practice) line, then don't use the clutch anymore when you shift gears (let up just slightly on the gas and shift up at the same time, called speed shifting) this will greatly improve you'r straight line speed!!!!
