Hello
I am thinking about buying a 2001 DS. The bike just died, and the guy never got it started. He even pulled started it. Dont know if it has spark or fuel or anything. Going in blind.. THe deal a 2000 CR 250 Blown motor, and the DS that died. For $2,000. What do you DS owners think..I know the motor has been redone from bottom up, and has some Rear bead locks. Other than that its all stock. And real rusty on the chain and axle and some bolts. Not sure if the rear shock is locked out or just plain stiff.
Let me know what you think.

Assuming it is not in bad shape it could be a good deal, or it could be a money pit. Take some pictures & post em if you want; though if you know what to look for on a quad it wont be that different. 2001 is a decent year for a DS, when you say it 'died' it makes me wonder how it was 'killed.'

Sounds like a steal to me. You could try to fix it and if it is too costly pick up Biggerisbetters motor for 2k. Then strip the old engine and sell parts on ebay. You should come out around $3700 for a really quick quad. I wish I was close, I'd snag it. If nothing else it would make a great donor for a streetbike engine quad.
