Default Oil change - red light stays on

I just did my 2nd oil change on my Baja X and my red light doesn't want to turn off. After my first oil change the light shut off after about 3-4 seconds. I started it up this time and ran it a good 8-10 seconds and it did not go out. Let it sit for about five minutes and tried again. No luck. Any ideas?

That was my understanding also. Never had to bleed on my first oil change either. Should I still go through the steps to bleed?

Don't start it until the red light goes off.

The Bomb engineers did a great job designing the system so you can have the key off and the kill switch on. (Or am I backwards on this.)

Anyways, turn the engine over without starting it until the red light goes off as you are turning it over. When you start it you should have oil pressure.

It won't hurt to bleed it so, try it to see if it is primed. I would think if it sat over night, most of the air would bleed out.

Fesh oil started spilling out of the oil filter cover when I began to remove it. I would think if there is oil at the motor it is not a bleeding problem. Is that correct?

Is the red light at full brightness or just partly on. My oil sensor went bad and that was the major symptom. Replaced the switch under warranty and problem gone. My dealer said that Bomb got a bad batch of them and now knows the problem exists. Also, check your oil screen to make sure not plugged.

The red light is fully on. I have never had it come on prior other than when turning on the ignition. I find it odd that the oil sensor would go bad at the exact time I did the oil change. Is there any way to test it?

Still wondering about the oil coming out of the filter cover when I went to remove it. Does this rule out a bleeding problem if there is oil at the motor?
